mvickMike Vick is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. Regarded as having transformed the quarterback position with his rushing abilities, he is the NFL leader in quarterback rushing yards and was the league's first quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Vick played college football at Virginia Tech, where he received first-team All-American honors and was selected first overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft. During his six years with the Falcons, he was named to three Pro Bowls and finished second in NFL MVP voting in 2004 while leading the team on two playoff runs, one division title, and an NFC Championship Game appearance.


Shawn Prendergast ’94 was a four-year letterwinner for the W&J football team after transferring in from UMASS , who led the Presidents to four consecutive Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships and NCAA Division III Playoff appearances. He was a two-time First Team All-PAC linebacker and All-American. In 1993, he was selected to the Kodak All-America team, while also being honored as a Champion All-American. He played in all 25 games in his final two seasons and led W&J to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in 1992. He was also honored as the Division III Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. In all, Prendergast’s teams won 40 out of 46 games in his career. He also had a short stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL. Shawn's oldest son Cade Prendergast played 4 years as a DB for the football team at Texas A&M and won 3 bowl rings including an Orange Bowl, Gator Bowl and Texas Bowl. His youngest son played at Blinn Junior College is currently a Defensive Lineman at Florida International in Miami, FL. Both of his kids went to Prosper HS in Texas. After the CFL Shawn got into the Health Club Industry and sold his club Pro Fitness to 24 Hour Fitness in 2004. Since then he has been in the technology business and is a Partner in College Athlete Autographs and More which is an NIL company helping student athletes grow their brand.
